I've had quite a few kiddo's ask how to make jpegs and manipulate the
size so they'll fit across the top of their blog and act as a header.
While I use Image composer, which is an archaic program, (if it aint
broke, don't fix it :-) I don't know what everyone has at home. I'd love
for all the kiddo's to learn Photoshop, but that takes money.
And so when I ran across this little jewel of a freebie I had to share! It's called pixlr.com.
It has similar features to Photoshop, and I'd love for the kiddo's to
play! Now, you do have to sign up, which basically involves giving them
your email and creating a password, but once that's taken care of you
can create, layer, and put words on any picture you'd like. Too, some of
the tools (such as the lasso, the wand, etc) are the same as Photoshop,
so learn this first and when we get to that stage it'll be a breeze!
Now I'm learning this one with you, so I'm no expert. But if you have a
questions feel free to post one and I'll see if I can't find the answer.
As always, go play, have fun, be fearless, and learn something new!

Gracie Spotted Cow
It was a very windy weekend. The leaves were falling, blowing across the road. My Mom was driving me to a surprise, but I couldn’t wait any more! I had to ask!
“Where are we going?”
“Dad has a surprise waiting for you at my office,” mom answered. “For both
you and Liam to share.”
I wonder what it is, I thought.
When we came to a halt, I jumped out of the car and saw my dad’s car come into view. He stopped the car and got out. He was holding something that touched the ground.
I could see my dad holding a leash with a cute dog that was very small. She was black and brown. And when I say cute, I really mean cute.
“Woof!” said the dog.
“Are we dog sitting?” I asked.
“No,” Dad replied. “We’re keeping this dog.”
“What! Really?” I said.
“Woof! Bark!” yipped the dog.
“What is her name?” I asked.
“Gracie for short. Her REAL name is Gracie spotted-cow. ” Dad replied.
Gracie is still alive. She is brown and black. She can roll over for a treat and stand on her hind legs for human food. She can also, give the irresistible pitiful eyes. (It never works on me, but works on dad.)
She LOVES chicken. Why do I know this? When we were dog sitting 3 dogs, at dinner dad crumbled up pork chops and put them in the dog bowls. (Yes. He is a sucker.) While dad was doing this, Gracie ate it ALL!
Above all, she will jump up and lick you to death.

Jazzy's Worse Day at School
Once upon a time there was a girl named Andy. One day Jazz, a bully, got in Binky’s face.
“Give me your money!” she angrily said.
“No!”
Then Jazzy picked Binky up. She struggled, slapped Jazzy, and pushed her away.
“Ow! You hurt me!” screamed Jazzy.
“Well, I’m not the one that’s being mean.” Binky said.
“Yes you are! You wanted to steal my money!”
Jazzy started to cry. “I’m starving. I haven’t eaten in two days and I don’t have any money.”
Binky felt so sad she went and hugged her. “I’ll share my lunch with you.”
From that day on Binky and Jazzy worked together to become friends.
THE END!

On a Friday Night
I went to a church. I was bored to death. I saw my friend who was talking to his girlfriend. I started to snoop on them to hear what they were talking about. All of the sudden, someone pushed me in the door. I turned around and saw Bryan scowling at me. The next thing I knew I was hiding in the hall where they were. When they saw me I took a step back, and I tried to hide. Bryan came through the door, and I started to run from him. Then his girlfriend ran after me. She did not catch me. After they almost caught me it was time to go. He tried to slam me into a wall. I was saved by my mom yelling for me. Bryan said “I’m going to get you one of these days.” That’s the last day I am ever going to a church function … well, at least I won’t go when Bryan’s girlfriend is there.

My Pathological Fear!
My pathological fear is snakes. It all started like this. One day when my mom and I were coming home from the store we saw a snake. It was probably 6 feet and 8 inches long. It was on our back porch. My mom screamed. When my mom saw Rick coming to his car my mom asked “may you kill a snake for me?” “Sure” he said. He picked up a big rock and drop it on it tail. Then he dropped a rock on it. Then he left. A few days later there was another snake. It looked like the one Rick killed. It was light and scaly blue. My mom ran to get Rick. She brought Rick. After he saw the snake trying to get in the back door he said “when he gets finish trying to get through the door let him go. He probably just got stuck. So let him out. The snake slipped out and got away. So that is why I am scared of snakes. I think one might come through the back door and bite my mom or me.

Taming the Monster Ride!
Hordes of people filled up the maze to the Windseeker. Screams of
horror filled the air and drove into my ears. As I got closer, the ride got
bigger and bigger. We finally got to the front of the line, and sweat dripped
down my neck.
When I got into to my seat I was terrified. I locked my seatbelt. When
I heard the click I knew there was no going back know. The machine roared, and I
was scared to death. The ride jolted, lifting me in the air, spinning round and
round.
Why did I get on this MONSTER!
As I shot around the bend, I saw my mom smiling at me.
She’s crazy! She wasn’t brave enough to go on this terrifying ride. Why
does she think I’m having a good time?
We were so high I could see the other rides in the park. It felt like
I was 100 feet in the air. I closed my eyes. I thought it would help, and it
did.
When I got off the ride I was relieved. I couldn’t believe I made it
without barfing!

Horses, Soccer, Breanna, and Me
My sister, Breanna, is fourteen years old. Because of the age difference, we don’t get to do much stuff together. I’m so excited because we both are now playing soccer and taking horseback riding lessons.
My soccer team is the rockets, and my teams color is light blue. My sister’s team color is really dark purple, and I’m not sure what my sister’s team name is. Even though we are not on the same team, she helps me sometimes at our house. She’s been playing for a really long time!
We have horseback riding lesson in the next town over. My horse’s names are breezy and champagne, and my sister’s horse is T.J. I can canter, walk, and trot. I can also jump jumps that are kind of high, but not too high because I have only have been horseback riding for two in a half years. My sister has only been horseback riding for 6 months, and so she asks me for advice sometimes. I love it when she does that!
Sometimes my sister and I fight, but we still love each other. I’m glad we have found things we can do together, like soccer and horseback riding.
